When they got to a secluded area, they sat down and Snowpaw took a deep breath before everything tumbled out of her mouth. With each word she spoke, Lilyflight’s eyes grew wider and wider.

“So let me get this straight,” she mewed when Snowpaw was finished. “You have powers and are in a prophecy, Floodpaw needs to become a medicine cat, a horrible sickness is coming, Bluetail is going to die from it, and Hazelkit is Spottedleaf?”

Lilyflight gave a small start as Spottedleaf herself appeared from seemingly nowhere. She dipped her head in respect. “How will she become a medicine cat? And why can’t Feathersky and Owlpaw handle this?”

"Owlherb." She corrected gently. "They won't be able to find the cure. She'll become a medicine cat as long as we push her in that direction and when Bluetail dies, she'll have to see it."
