Hazelpaw watched her go into the den and felt the wave of anger that came off of her. Wondering what had happened, she told Aspenpaw she would be back soon and slid into the den. "Hey, Nightpaw." She greeted lightly, as to not make her anymore angry. "Are you okay?"

Nightpaw grumbled something into her thick-furred tail. After waiting a moment and realizing she wasn't going to get away with that as an answer, she huffed a breath out of her nose. She raised her head and pricked her ears. "What? I'm fine."

"Doesn't seem like it," She muttered under her breath. Louder, she mewed "You and I both know that's not the truth. I know you don't like me and the other apprentices, but we're stuck with each other. I want to get to know you better, but it's hard when you don't open up. What happened with you and Flamefrost?"

"I don't like you? That's news." Nightpaw mewed dryly. She cocked her head. "Something happened with me and Flamefrost?"

She sighed in exasperation. "You were very obviously angry after you finished talking to Flamefrost." She pointed out. "I could feel the anger coming off of you when you bolted in here."

"Annoyance," Nightpaw corrected. "And I didn't hire you to be my emotional support cat." She stuffed her nose back into the depths of her fluffy tail.
