Runt Chick?

Yes, that's very original... we have a boy Nugget as well. :p

I don't believe it will hurt her to treat for cocci since when we treat one bird we treat them all even if no symptoms appear. I kinda doubt that's it, but... beyond genetics is the closest thing I can think of that matches standing around with eyes closed.

I do suspect she may be a bantam EE. It's the only thing that matches on their site (Cackle).
I went and bought some corid. Boy is there a lot of differing opinions on dosage for chickens. I went with 1.5 teaspoons per gal of water. That seemed to be the majority. I agree, that is the only breed that I saw that made any sense. Her legs today do have the sleightest hint of green on them. If you really look. I brought her over to the treated water and dipped her beak into it and she drank for a bit. Until her siblings came over to her then she backed away. I separated her from the rest and she isn't happy about it. I'm thinking about putting her Australorp friend in with her

I would keep them all together unless she's being picked on real bad. Reintegration can be difficult. And having the other birds running around should be encouraging her to become more active. So if you do need to, try something like a fence/wire panel separation but where they can see and hear each other.

Great advice. That was my gut feeling. We had her out with the rest all day and she lived and it rained today so I'm guessing when I let them out full time she's going to go too. Would you feel comfortable letting them all out permanently at 5.5 weeks? I'm thinking about putting a small heat light in there so nugget doesn't freeze with her bony frame. She is unfortunately at the height of her siblings butts so she needs to get washed here and there. I was gently washing her and I saw two black spots at each wing joint that I thought was poop. Upon further inspection I realized you can actually see a different color at all her joints. I'm guessing because she's so skinny.

If she lives I'm going to need to know your first name. Only fitting I name her after you. You have been such a great help

Here's her latest poop. It's tiny but it looks healthy

We had a much smaller chick among our 6 pullets from Tractor Supply. She was the first one my daughter picked, because she was so little she was just round.
She did survive. She grew to be a beautiful....rooster.

Love hearing success stories. I love this little "girl" she has literally stopped growing though. She's getting her feathers. Here's a picture of her with her siblings of the same age. There are a few different breeds, but the rest aren't nearly as small as her

Awesome! Yes 100% I would be comfortable with them out at 5.5 weeks especially this time of year. (though I realize I was thinking about you being at someone else location) You have plenty of other birds so I don't think she will need heat. She will likely just make friends to snuggle with. I usually have cut the light in the brooder before moving them out completely so it's a little less of an adjustment. But that many birds will put off quite a bit of heat so it shouldn't be a problem.

That's really sweet, my name in Alyssa. :D

You've got such a cool variety there! :love
