I don't know if you can tell by this picture but I wanted to get a better one because when this little one with the white spot was laying next to another you can really tell that she is smaller.

Is this fairly common?

It happens. I wouldn't worry yet. As long as there is growth and the difference is not too dramatic it is fine.
