Oh, my hen turned roo is the gorgeous guy strutting his stuff in my picture thing! Originally named Goldilocks but now dubbed Jumbo

That is a gorgeous rooster. I wouldn't mind having a rooster if he was kind to the hens and a looker.

We lucked up with him, he is very conscious of the ladies and keeping them herded together as they take their strolls through the fields next to us. and he is definitely the boss of the farm! We had one that found its way to the pot quick because he would flog and bite even when we tried to feed him. That was my first butcher job. (And only so far....)!

Wheatens can easily and accurately be sexed by color.

He only had the golden in his neck feathers and we were new to chickens when we got him or we may have picked up on that. Still learning.... Always learning..... Do you ever stop learning...?
