Cute! And I'd say by that miniature "stink eye," you've got a little cockerel there! LOL

Oh yes, the attitude says boy too!! LOL But that's ok...

Do they ever color out this way when babies and end up as Mahoganies when older? I'm shooting in the dark here, can you tell?

Yeah...he should be all mahogany, no white.

They look similar to a buckeye when they are feathering out...

It figures, when I got the second batch of eggs from the seller he said he'd had to put in 2 spangled to finish up the order. Out of 29 eggs, two shipments, this is the lil guy I got. Not a girl and not a Mahogany.. a $75 Spangled Boy...LOL It's ok, I have 3 spangled girls he can go with when older. Guess I'll be doing BOTH types... once I GET Mahoganies! *sigh*

VERY CUTE! If/when my Mahoganies decide to lay, I'll let you know! LOL

Awesome! But now I'm scared to death to get eggs shipped. I lost 28 eggs!

I checked at my post office and I could ship birds to you with two days delivery time. That should mean you can get started birds shipped to you from almost anywhere in the US. Tom

I have some Mahoganies that are the result of a Malay over Spangled Orloff hens. My intention is to put a cockerel over the Spangled hens and possibly two F1 pullets. Tom

Well, I ordered a bunch of chicks from Sand Hill this summer. Among my buff chanteclers was this bird.....picture taken at about 13 weeks of age. Is this a cross, or just a very poor orloff -- cushion comb, and no beard/muffs. It carries it's tail straight out all the time and looks very gamey. It's a cock.

Same bird as a chick...
