They aren’t. I have an adult version and neck back looks like barred rock and front more white.There is mention of rustic ramblers. Male black copper Marans over barred rock hen. It may be the same.

I don't know but I bought some Hoover "Smokey Pearl ™" from TSC, which given that on their site they mention "ghost barring" I suspect are also some sort of Barred Rock cross, maybe with leghorn or something.How many mixes does that make now?

My "Smokey Pearl™" chicks are yellow with very few black speckles.
Mine are pretty flighty, the hatchery website description notwithstanding, which is one reason I suspect Leghorn as one contribution to the cross.
Are you sure? Hoover's says this "breed" is a cross that is being tested.Barnevelder.
