I have a galvanized waterer... it was one of my first purchases last summer. Last night when I refilled it I noticed that it has some rust accumulating and turning the water reddish brown. I thought that's why you bought galvanized so it didn't rust. I know I can clean it up some with salt, but is there anything I can put on it to stop the rust?

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the response Bear foot Farm....Any certain type of paint? Since the chickens will be using it I don't want to use anything I shouldn't. Rustoleum spray paint?

Your not adding Apple Cider Vinegar to the water are you?
