Rut-Roh.. two roos? (Is this a roo too??)

I am absolutely no expert but if you search here or Google BR roo they seem a lot lighter than that in the pictures... Hopefully someone who knows better will help out. I own barred rocks so I've googled "roo" quite a few times and they seem (in pics) almost grey compared to hens.

Thanks so much for your reply! I appreciate it. Yes, I agree when I google Roos they are almost grey-looking. I will be over the moon if this turns out to be a hen.

My problem is, comparing it to my friend's BR hen (which came from the same farm) it looks way off. Hers is almost laying age and is just now starting on a comb.

My last barred rock hen had a comb bigger than my rooster ha ha id go off coloring with that breed... By that age I think you should see spurs developing if its a rooster??

Well. With the first suspected roo I looked for buds, but quickly realized that all of my hens have spur buds.. Even my 4-5 month old "definite" roo doesn't have more than just the buds yet.

Haha thanks S&P! You know, I didn't even know what a CM was but now that I looked it up you're right! But the place I got him/her doesn't even breed those as far as I know...

This bird hasn't developed any further, really, from when the pic was taken. So I just dont know still. No crowing, no tail feathers, no really noticeable hackles?? I will def update when I know for sure though. Thanks again!!

Oh and no sparring with my SLW roo, which was a huge part of knowing the RIR in question was a roo.. But I know not all Roos will challenge I guess.

Hmmm, I was thinking roo because of the wattles, my pullets sometimes have a pink comb at this age, but no wattles... Sometimes they won't spur, I have so many roosters together right now, and only one looks for a fight. I was thinking a cuckoo since in the pictures it's legs look white. BRs have yellow legs. Is it just the lighting?
