Well, this is just frustrating. I made an order of 25 chicks to MM a week ago. Unfortunately, the people that work @ my post office must have some sort of mental block, and don't understand what "calling on arrival" means. My *dead* chicks were delivered to my door when it was 30 degrees in Alabama. Great! So I get a replacement order. I specifically called the POSTMASTER of the office, gave him my name, number, details, etc. and told him to call me when they arrive (no matter what time). He said he would call me at 3:00 a.m. monday (today). So, I called @ 3:00 a.m., just to be sure, and he told me "no go..no chicks today". So I assume they will be delivered tomorrow. Today, around 10:00a.m., I get a honk in my driveway, and my postal service carrier is standing outside w/ my baby chicks (that were supposedly not there). I was so livid. I heard peeping, and was hopeful. 6 of them were smooshed at the bottom of the small box. About 10 of them were on their way out. So far, only 2 banties have died, but my New Hampshire red is looking very bad. The banties are looking seriously sad, and my Araucauna/leghorns/orphington are the only ones doing good.
I am so sad. I guess I'll just buy from the local feed store.
Anyone know what the policy is w/ Mcmurray and a 2nd dead order?
Thanks for listening to me gripe about it. I am just SO disappointed. =[
I called and complained to the post office again, but I think everyone up there just doesn't care. It truly is frustrating.
