I wanted to say your new roo is beautiful! I'm so sorry to hear about BokBok ... I haven't been reading lately and so I don't "know" him but he sounds like a wonderful little guy!

But now I'm getting worried. The duck squad is in a converted rabbit hutch, at the moment. I lock them in at night. But the corners aren't square, and a snake COULD get in. I didn't think it could hurt them now though? Except for scaring them. (They're 2-1/2 months old and about full sized - they even chased a daschsund out of the yard last week, and I found and fixed the hole in the fence!)

A few weeks ago a snake got into the house. That was just before we moved the ducks outside. It was a HUGE rat snake ... probably around 6 feet long (though not big around). We found it because the ducks freaked out when it started going across the room they were in.

Now I worry because the chicks are in the same room. If one snake could get in, maybe another could too. I hope it was just a fluke though.

Sigh ... too many things to worry about with these babies! Babies always worry their mamas, don't they?
