Thank you so much for your story and for what you did. I can NEVER CULL (such a nice word for Kill) I make them as comfortable as possible, do what I can and let God take over. I had a sick hen a week ago, brought her into my "hospital" in the garage. I have fed her by hand (her eyes are shut, infection I think) and given her water. All week long she would take a few bites that I shoved at her, a few sips of water, and seemed to be wasting away, but not uncomfortable or in pain. (oh yeah, antibiotics and poly vi sol too) Yesterday after I tried to feed her, put her back in the cage and saw her open one eye, and drink drink drink ALL BY HERSELF. Then last night, she started eating (more like gorging, poor girl) I was so happy I cried. It makes it worth every minute I took in trying to get her to eat and drink and putting antibiotics in those eyes!!!!!!!!!!
