Sad News from Duck Haven Fl

Eunice Siversten (Owner Duck Haven FL.) A long time Margate Resident, Founder of “Duck Haven” a non-profit over 50 years ago, died in hospital today following a heart attack.

Eunice was devoted to caring for abandoned and injured muscovy ducks.

She will be greatly missed -- particularly by the muscovy

I don't know yet. Her husband is elderly, but he was helping latterly. There is also a devoted volunteer. If I hear anything, I will update here.

The main problem is that Eunice was not at all good at fund raising, and depended on folks dropping off duck food and supplies. When she was running out, she would put an appeal on Facebook. I have sent her an order of duck pellets delivered from Tractor Supply. I know she also used scratch grains, but that might have been because they were cheaper than duck pellets. She rarely sent more than 1 liner responses to inquiries!!! [She was in her high 80s and my own mother in her early 90s only used 1 liners!!!]
