Sad news that happened on the 4th :(

I am very sorry for your loss of Honey and Beaker. Do not let their sacrifice be in vain, secure that opening and find another watering solution. In your area you have both weasel and ferret as well as Coon. With multiple bites I think you are looking for a weasel. A Coon will rip their heads off but generally do not leave multiple bite wounds. Plus your other girl was not headless.

I am so sorry. Get some new babies after you secure the coop.

Sorry about your loss. Up here in Mass, we have these things called fisher cats. They are vicious, especially when it comes to chickens. A small one could fit through a whole that size and cause major damage to your chickens.

Our run isn't built yet, but we know we have to try and make sure these buggers can't get in! Right now our girls free range all day and they're locked in at night.

Here's what two of these look like, that's why I offered they look so much like yours:

the other black looks like that black, and the other EE is more tan.

Things with hands (hand prints)

-raccoons (useable)
-possum (fifth digit for balance)

Things with nearly hands

-squirrel (four toes)
-rat (four toes)
-weasel (fisher cats included- looks like a tiny dog print)
