I don't know if anybody gets sad about lowering the number of pets you have in your signature?

It makes me cry.

I am haveing to change it to 19 and it was 21 a few weeks ago.

I had one silkie die 2 weeks ago for no reason. I am guessing old age. Because she was extemely happy the day before.

I have one now that is dying and I have had her for almost 5 years. It makes me feel so horrible.
Honestly all I wanted to keep was all my old ones. So really I was expecting some to die on me. But It still bothers me...

hope your day will be better

It made me sad to put "RIP Dumpling" in my signature line. I look at it as a way to remember her and to let people know that I understand their loss of their beloved pet.

We had to give our roos away and it makes me feel so empty that my flock is missing so much life. Now my backyard feels like a boarding school for girls. I feel your pain.

Yes it is... But it is so hard to let them go. I wish they could live forever

I am glad I decided to keep all my old ones instead. Now I know they get a ton of attention before they go.. It was to hard to keep up with everything and everybody. Now I have the time

Its not really the number... For me its the memories... I don't want them forgotten

It is sad indeed...I was not a happer camper to RIP Lilly and fancy on mine on either...

There is nothing as precious as your "first chickens" aka the older gals. You get so attached to them and when we lose them it is heartbreaking.

Thats why I don't really add numbers much.. That and it had once said '250 chickens', but I realized.. I have no idea how many I have anymore.

I gave away 2 roos and 2 POL pullets last night, so I know the sadness you're feeling. I know my birds went to a good home (she's a 4H leader), the boys will have more girls of their own and they'll get to free range, but it still wasn't easy to say goodbye.
