Isn't it amazing how chickens peck their way in and cuddle up next to your heart?! I would have NEVER believed it until I got my own.

I've recently read here of chickens that love to eat black widows and even chickens killing and eating poisonous snakes. Poison seems unlikely as there was no symptom like vomiting, etc. I'd guess he most likely had some internal problem; nothing you could have done.
