so we have our little Penny who some might know from my other tread where I discovered she had come from the breeder with frostbite on both feet and now is going to lose one foot entirely and 2 toes on the other...Fun!

Well she has been a house chicken for the whole month we have had her and now I think I have finally figured out the deal with her feathers and lack there of... after the suggestion she might be a frazzled bird I think it’s correct!

I have been looking everywhere and connot seem to find the other defects that come along with frazzled birds aside from brittle sparse feathers....

I really am looking for info on how to manage and what special needs these birds have!

Can anyone help me out with this info?

I want to be prepared on what could be coming our way ( in addition to everything that already has!)

Here is little penny supposedly a Sussex x NN... she currently lives beside Chili our rabbit

She is soooooo cute and did you check for mites sometimes chickens can get feather mites if you haven't already maybe a bath would be good no soap unless it's special chicken soap you can buy spray for mites also if she does have mites I think you've pretty much done everything you can for her I hope she is ok I think she will be ps with the bath do it in water then dry her off warning she may dust bathe after so get dryer

She does have strange feathers, but they don't look like a frazzle. Could be something else wrong with her, she doesn't look right.

I had a faverolle get frostbite on her toes last year, lost most of them. Took a few months for the tips to fall off and them to heal up.

She honestly is the strangest chicken I have ever encountered!!! Sweet as pie though!
