Saddle shape air cells and humidity...

Thank you guys. You have a lot of patience! I think I'm over worrying about the whole thing. I looked real quick when I turned them last night and I saw 3 babies. So they are growing! I'm gonna stop stressing so much! tomorrow is day 7 and I will mark air cells and take it from there. After I got the baby to sleep last night I looked at a million candling pics till I fell asleep!!! :)

You will be able to see a lot more tomorrow. Do all of the air cells look like that one? I had a few that looked like that early on, too. It does look like it's dipping a little low on one side. Take some pictures tomorrow and let us know how they look then. Another thing I loved about my Brinsea mini, if you place the eggs with the large end close to the outer edge you can candle them right through the side of the incubator without having to disturb them:). It was awesome during lockdown because I could keep tabs on everyone and see when they pipped the inner membrane.

Ok, today is day 7. I have 7 eggs. 3 you can clearly see babies moving. 1 you can see a bright red ring. 1 has a dim red ring and a black dot. And 2 look totally clear. When should I take out the ones that don't have a baby? Of the 3 that have babies, I marked the air cells. 2 look great! 1 starts as a circle but dips way down on one side...

I had left my clear and few early quitters in there until day 10 or 14, I can't remember. As long as they don't smell bad I don't believe they're going to pose a risk to the other eggs. Since you're hand turning you would definitely notice an odor before one exploded. As for the strange air cell, I had one like that, and one or two with a true saddle shape. The one that looked similar to yours hatched but the saddle shaped did not. I would just be careful with it and try not to candle more than necessary since the air cell is probably a bit more fragile. Glad to hear you have three that look pretty good, though! It's unbelievable how fast they grow.
