Safe-Guard Goat Dewormer

Hi! I am trying to find this information as well. I have the equine paste dewormer, 100mg/g. Can I use this? What would my dosage be? Thank you!

I did an experiment that proved 1 ml of paste weighs 1 gram, so one ml of paste has 100mg fenbendazole, just like 1 ml of the liquid does. The amount of paste or liquid I use is 50 mg/kg (~0.23 ml per pound) for five consecutive days. That dose will treat large roundworms, cecal worms, gapeworms, capillary worms and it might treat some species of tapeworms.

A single dose of the same amount repeated in ten days will treat large roundworms and cecal worms.

Does that help?

Thank you! So, I have standard size hens, and one roo. I haven't seen any evidence of worms, but since they are out running around, I assume they have some. Have been worming once a year during the time they shut down in the winter. I have been doing the one dose and then another in 10 days. Is this what I should I be doing? Math is bad...about how much per hen so I can check myself. Thank you again!

Do you know if the eggs can be fed to the dogs? I don't see how it would and seems a shame to waste them but I can't find a definitive answer.

Pretty old thread I know but in case someone searches this in the future.....Safeguard goat dewormer is perfectly safe for dogs, my vet actually transfers this exact dewormer(from the large size) into smaller bottles and labels it "Panacur". So nice of the tech to share that.....and save me money.

So I've had no trouble feeding eggs to dogs while I was deworming chickens.

I think the more common dose for dogs and cats is 50mg/kg, which is 2.27ml per 10 pounds for no less than three days.

Yes you are right! I rechecked my bottle. Just wondering, what about hatching eggs from chickens on dewormer?

I know I've read not to hatch eggs from chickens on medicated feed(assuming amprolium?) but what about other types of medication?

So it would be 5.75 cc's of safeguard 10% suspension for a 25lb. Turkey? It seems like alot... Just want to make sure I did the math right...

And for capillary worms it's five days in a row.
