Anyone have suggestions for lighting a quail pen that would be safe from breakage? I need to add lights but I'm afraid they might fly up and break them. All I can think of is fluorescent lights with a cover.

You can use brooder lamps with any type of light bulb. Then cover the reflector opening with hardware cloth. The light bulb is now protected. :)

I have one of those "under the cabinet" lamps that I am going to install outside of the pen, that way it is out of the quails reach.
