I have a broody who left new nest, and went back to her old (empty) one after only 36 hours. Is it safe to eat those eggs? She wandered around for 4 hours before going back to the old nest. I am going to make some improvements to her new nest and try again with fewer eggs.

Is it only you eating the eggs? If you are letting anyone else eat the eggs they should be informed that were at around 100'F under a hen for a day and a half.
I'd pass on that...

Well, me and my hubby. Yes, I will pass. I have a very informative chicken book that I thought said the eggs go dormant for 6 days after hatch. But I guess that presumes no hen on them. Thanks! You guys are fast with the answers.
