Okay, where i live you can only have up to 6 chickens per acre. (So I can only get 6 hens)
So, I'm buying my chicks online, and know the risks of shipping chicks, through all that usually 1 out of the batch doesn't make it. Would it be safe to order 1 or 2 extra? Better to be safe then sorry?

I would order an extra or two. But, remember they may also throw in "packing peanuts". And after you get your order, let them grow and pick the six you want and sell the others.

This is enabling...

....I agree, get 2!

Funny I ordered from Chickens for Backyards in March I ordered 6 and they only sent me 5. They couldn't send just one chicken so I ended up getting 3 more. They gave me free shipping for second order but I paid for the 2 extras. One of my original 5 ended up being a rooster so I had to give him away. So I ordered 3 more because I was sad I had to lose one. This time I ordered from my pet chicken. has anyone ordered from them do they send packing peanuts??
