Safe weed control in chicken yard questions

The article I read said people could eat mallow in salad. Maybe you need to offer your flock some dressing options?

The weeds my chicken let live in their run seem to support butterflies. They are evil geniuses. Yep they farm.

Is it milkweed by chance. Butterflies (esp. Monarchs) love it, but it’s toxic to most everything else.

Nope my chicken are farming some type of Spurge. Were it milkweed it would be moved to our butterfly garden.

Spread out some Wheat Straw and the "wheat" grass that will pop up will over take the weeds AND your chickens will love the "wheat grass".
