One of the Feed stores in out community does NOT charge Sales tax on chicken feed.
The other Feed store charges you Sales tax unless you are planning to eat the chicken.
The store that does charge sales tax asks you to fill out a Tax Exempt card for them to have on file to protect them. Here in California the Sales tax is 7.75%!!!!

The sales tax in California can vary from city to city. Be happy all you have to pay is 7.75%!! Long Beach is 10.25%! The SF Bay Area is 9.25%. Rural areas are cheaper. We are at 7.25%. Normally you pay sales tax on anything that is not for human consumption. :D

Oh my, I do consider myself lucky, but I moved from a 10% tax area to a 7.25% sales tax area just for that reason! You are suffering, I'm so sorry. :hit

Yup I spent a couple years living in a 5% province, it felt like everything was on sale.
I shouldn’t complain though, I’m pretty ok with where that tax money goes.
