Sally's GF3 thread

The new shower is... wonderful. The mixer valve thingie mixes the temp of the water really fast! No more turning the handle, waiting 15 seconds and seeing if it's warmer enough. And then saying YEOW! as it suddenly becomes really hot.

I'll be calling Your Shower Door tomorrow. :) Today got a bit derailed by other things.

Yeah, I could make a duck pond with the old tub! :lau I don't have ducks, but I could have a duck pond!
Just a water feature with rush and pond lilies and tadpoles and...

Yesterday we went to Your Shower Door and ordered, what else? a shower door. We went to them because the kits we saw at Menards looked like they'd be a pita to install, and even more of crap shoot to get home. Bringing home the fiberglass shower panels was one thing; 30x78 inch sheets of glass would be a whole 'nother.

The kits we saw at Menards were 1/4" or 5/16" thick glass. YSD has 3/8" thick, and they come measure, order to size, and do the installation. Yes, we're paying more (probably a lot more) for that. Total cost is $2157. We paid for two upcharges: a rainfall pattern texture and a special coating to seal it, which was $667 of the price.

Since this is our "forever" home and it's (hopefully!) a one-and-done remodel, I'm fine with the price. There was enough angst in this project for both of us to last a long time.
