They lost. Sigh. Maybe next year.:(
I'm sorry. :hugs

But at least they got this far. I've been a UConn fan for 50 years, through season after season of 8-15 type records. And then they eventually made it to the Final Four, and ultimately the championship.

It can happen.

I found a couple freezer burned chicken breasts last Monday when I cleaned out the chest freezer. :sickDog treats. Chicken treats. What a waste...

...or are they salvageable? Resoundingly, yes! I read this online, did it, and it was delicious!

Cut off the worst of the freezer burn. Dice up two medium onions, mince up 2-3 cloves of garlic. Get out a Dutch oven and 2 cans (roughly 2 1/2 cups) of chicken broth (I used bone broth).

Pre-heat the oven to 300F.

Put the chicken, onions, and garlic in the Dutch oven and pour the broth over. Bring to a boil, then cover and put in the oven for an hour.

Shred or cut up; season as appropriate for tacos, burritos, or however you want to serve it.

Hubby had it over noodles, I had it over rice. We both declared it a success. I'll even make it with chicken breasts that aren't freezer burned. He dubbed this "chicken stew."

I bet it would work with just about any freezer burned meat!

Freezer burn is basically "freeze dried"
Never stopped me from using anything out of the freezer.
Ah!

I have found that freezer burned fruit tastes... off. I'll use it up, but hubby would throw it out.

I found some old blue berries in plastic bags, and they are shriveled and taste weird. I'm putting them in my oatmeal, as I figure they still have vitamins and the other good stuff.

It has been quite awhile since I defrosted the freezer. I do it when we have single digit temps so that I can put all the food in totes and stick them on the porch while I clean the freezer.

I like to add blueberries to oatmeal too!

If I have older frozen blueberries I use them to make a blueberry topping. It seems by adding a little sweetener and vanilla flavoring it helps make the blueberry flavor better. I add a thickener like corn starch too. Warm it until everything is combined well. It will continue to thicken as it cools.

Of course if the blueberries have gone too far this may not work.
