It took them about half a minute to decide to come outside.

Snowbird got up from a dustbath to come tidbit to the littles. He moved over just as I took the picture, of course.

One of my three Black Australorps, Lark, was "The Mean Girl" when I had chicks two years ago. She is showing signs of being such again. :hmm

Yeah, we're still about 6" low for the season. But this is a nice amount to soak in right now. We have more in the forecast for tomorrow (80%), then we're back to chances on Tuesday and next Saturday.

I'll take all we can get!
Six inches below normal at this time of year is disheartening. We ended last year at ten inches below. This year we're at two inches above and the drought monitor shows we have improved to just being in the dry category. Quite an improvement for us. Will keep my fingers crossed that you get more rain. It surely makes the mind rest easy.

Yes, it does make my mind rest much easier, and not just for my gardens, but for the many farm fields around me.

Yes, I know the numbers of bugs are going to explode. I'll be complaining about mosquito bites soon. But I'll take those over the drought.

And yeah, I'm happy to have a few days off from watering. Now I can get some weeding done!
