Sally's GF3 thread

automobiles can be replaced. People cant.
As I've said many times, it's just stuff.
I know it was scary.
That's just it, there wasn't time to be scared! No "oh crap, there's a deer!" One fraction of a second we were looking at pavement, one fraction of a second later, BOOM!

I think I would have handled the situation differently had I been driving. Not that I wouldn't have hit the deer -- I don't think anyone could have missed it or stopped -- but I would have been shaking and much more frazzled afterward.

Today is deal with insurance day. The few times I've talked with my agent, she's been friendly and helpful.

I got the ball rolling on getting the car fixed or totaled. At first glance, we were pretty sure it would be totaled, but hubby looked a little closer and thinks.... maybe not...? We had it towed to a local collision repair shop. I'm waiting to find out what they think.

Everyone I talked to -- insurance agent, claims person, repair place -- was very nice and helpful. Yeah, I know, I've already paid the insurance company beaucoup bucks, so they should be nice. But it is a much easier process when they are pleasant, glad you're ok, and walk you through step-by-step what you need to do and who you need to call.

Even the hold music wasn't bad. Nice, bouncy, sort of reggae, and not the horrible low-fi muzak you often get. :gig
