Salmon Faverolle - Freakish beak skin growth??

Hi everyone,

So I'm completely mystified. Yesterday I noticed my girl Duckie was acting a little lethargic, went into the coop early, and today she was continuing this behavior, so I decided to isolate her and take a closer look.

Since shes a faverolle she has a VERY fuzzy face, and from many angles cant even see her eyes. So i picked her up (she was much more complacent that usual.... she's as spicy girl normally) and then began to check her crop when i noticed she was really hanging her head, almost as if she couldn't raise it; looking closer at her beak and mouth area i noticed as if some skin had grow up over her lower beak rendering it pretty much inoperable, or she somehow had pecked her own neck? yet there was no blood. So i gently freed her lower beak and removed this "skin" for lack of a better term. There was no blood when i removed it and it still looks as it there is something fleshy inside the tip of her lower beak, and the tip of her tongue appears to be discolored? maybe?

So that's where I'm at, she's pretty pissed now, I'm going to try and hand water her in a minute, and afterwards i did see her immediately hold her head higher and close her beak.

ANY i repeat ANY info or insight would be apricated. I didn't get a picture before i removed it, and as soon as i can manage ill try to post some post-op pics, but mystified

UPDATE: she seems to be lightly picking the ground now, but really doesn't seem to be eating anything, and hasn't really drank anything since i removed the above about an hour ago now.

Did you see any yellow or grey material inside the beak, or smell any bad odor? Can you see her tongue inside her beak? Pictures really are needed if possible.

still waiting to snap some. Not yellow or grey, the little bit of material at the tip looks to be the same color as the rest of the inside of her mouth. No odor i can discern. as so as i have someone to take a pic while i hold her ill get it posted.

You can see in the second picture, there seems to be some mucus present about halfway down her beak. She seems to be having a bit of a hard time drinking hence the wet feathers under her chin.

Can you get someone to take photos while you open her beak?

Offer her some water in a shallow cup held up to her beak, you don't want her to get dehydrated if she's not able to drink very well.

Can you tell if her crop is emptying?

ok, this is my first flock since we had them when i was a little kid, so im getting back up to speed. Ducky is very fluffy and im second guessing myself when feeling for the crop.
