Actually, I took in a second Faverolles from a friend, and they were both loud and scared and semi-impossible despite lots of gentle attention as chicks. HOWEVER, I read soooo much about how sweet and docile they were supposed to be. Depending on where you got them and individual temperament you may have a different experience. fingers crossed!

My other loudmouth chicks who didn't make the cut... a blue cochin, a blue silkie, an EE, and a black sexlink, all of which are on the top of the "sweetest chick" list.

My leghorn is quiet and cuddly compared to the ones I gave away.

Well for 15 minutes this afternoon I think we had crowing practice going on! Keep an eye on the guy in front. It will repeat in slow motion in case you miss it.

Me too ... my little girl had really dark wing tips .. hang on for a couple weeks until other feathers come in ... my pullet feathered a WHOLE lot faster than my cockerals.

Here they are about a week later and one is growing dark hackle feathers and the other one barely has any black except for her wing tips now. Am I right?

could you get a shot of the front of their combs? it is still tricky for the first few days but it still has some slight definition between the sexes.

females will feather out quicker on this breed. though with that updated pic it looks like you have one of each!

Well I think that the one on the right is a cockerel and the left is pullet, I do have to say that Favs. have a multitude of personalities and I also have a roo that will bite me when I pick it up then he is the sweetest thing that ever walked!!
