salmonella pullorum survivor

The hatchery I got the chicken eggs from is npip certified. I get all of my eggs from that same hatchery.
The pullorum incubation period is only 7-10 days so your bird could easily have contracted it after it came to your property and probably from area birds.
In most states, testing for NPIP is only done annually, so their birds could have contracted it since their last blood test. It is transmissible from hen to chick through eggs.

Mycoplasma species, there was a oral swab that can be done on all your birds. When we did it, each swab could be used on up to six birds, then off to MSU. If yours have either MG or MS, it's also a big problem.
Ours were negative, fortunately. I tested after having a feed store chick with a respiratory infection, like yours.
