Fortunately, I got mine from the local Value Barn and they use a different hatchery.

I just read in a book called "Keeping Chickens" by Jeremy Hobson & C Lewis " That it has been found that Marans eggs remain free from Salmonella infection possibly because the pores are small.... whodathunk
