Has anyone heard that salmonella is going around in backyard chickens? that you aren't supposed to be holding touching petting your chickens?

That's been going on forever. The APA has always recommended washing up thoroughly after holding/petting chickens.
The same holds true for handling any other pets or livestock.

I just read an article about this. Apparently no holding and kissing the chickens lol. So, there’s that. I had salmonella about 35 years ago. It was not fun. Guess I’ll have to be more careful.
