Hi there, I'm Jennifer from Tennessee. I am fairly new to chickens. My husband and I got 4 chickens last year in February so almost had them for a year now. We started out with 4, 3 black asian hens and an ameraucana rooster. We hatched out 5 babies from them. We also picked out 2 bantam silkies when we got our heritage poult. Then, in November we decided to add 6 more. We got 2 cinnamon queens hens, 2 prairie bluebells(a hen and rooster) and silver laced wyandotte and not sure on the other, looks like a nifty mixed. Found out our silkies were both female so we added a bantam rooster for them. And also acquired the neighbors Rhode island elderly hen. We did lose one or our original hens to a predator. So we have a total of 16. It was very exciting to get eggs and watch their little personalities. We also have ducks, geese, rabbits, dogs and cats. They keep us busy but we also enjoy travelling, offroading(Jeep), gardening and I enjoy crafts.
I found this page basically anytime I google something about chickens. Its certainly been a learning experience. Thanks for having me I hope to learn more from yall.
