Samba Malay Growth Thread.

I can tell you that Malays can be either Sporadic Layers, or lay almost as good as a regular chicken. Laying from anywhere between every other day, or every 2-4 days. Seems to be an individual thing. Others are more poor at laying.

They make better meat chickens then layers, as mentioned above.

Temperament is very bossy. Not human aggressive, are Dog Like.
They can be aggressive to each other, or other breeds.
Their main uses were Cockfighting, Racing, & Meat. Now strictly, Show, & Meat only.

Not human aggressive doesn't mean you won't run into a couple that are. Every chicken has the potential to be, no matter the gender.

A straight combed Malay male is definitely going to be more striking! Although there definitely seem to be way less straight combed Oriental gamefowl females documented online. I have seen quite a few, but not as much as the males
