It's too early to tell how good her barring will be. All we can tell is that it won't be something like breeder quality. Most BR pullets have less than regular barring at less than a month old. They go through several mini-molts as they get their adult plumage. This is my 8 week old BR pullet. Hers is not the best, fades out in places, but I always reserve judgement till later on about how good (or not) it will be. And you can see she has a good size comb, too, but so does her mother. Her parents were the progeny of hatchery stock.
Barred Rocks are my favorite for every reason. They're friendly, curious, intelligent and fabulous layers. There are exceptions, but to me, a BR is an all-round perfect chicken.
your right about them being the most curious. Out of my 4 chicks she doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. My daughter is actually scared of her now bc she tried to fly up on her shoulder. lol
