I probably will have bantam olive/green naked neck eggs and Barred Bearded Pea-combed project Olive Egger eggs (Around fourth or fifth generation) in the spring. I will also have crested Cayuga duck eggs.
I like the sound of the barred olive eggers, are they large fowl? I'm not too interested in bantams as my roosters are large and bantams don't do too well

Also do you happen to have pictures of the eggs they lay? I love cayugas! I'm just not really supposed to have ducks >.> but maybe by spring I can convince some of the nay sayers in my family to let me get some

But I would for sure like some of the olive eggers when they are available, thanks

The Olive eggers are LF, similar in size to Marans or a heavy dual purpose breed. The green eggs pictured here are from my hens from my flock, and the brown eggs arfe from Marans hens, which I no longer raise.

Hi, I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself to other San Diegan Chicken-keepers. We have 3 hens in the city - Normal Heights. They are a Buff Orpington and 2 Barred Rocks - we raised them from chicks and they are about 7 months old now (and started laying at 5 months!) I have a question, this will be our girls' first winter, do you heat your coop in the city, or are they ok in there at night? Thanks in advance for the advice!
