San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Sad news. We tried putting our injured pullet back with the flock last night. Come afternoon (we all slept in), I found her trembling on the roost, disheveled and bleeding again from the same spot. Poor thing, she wanted to head back inside the coop the entire time and now the entire flock has completely rejected her.
Any way you can set up a small cage and let her R&R right there in the coop? I try not to completely remove any bird from the coop if I don't have to. Also, introduce her back in when you have other birds. If you're hatching birds then you can add her in with the new ones. OR you can see if anyone here wants to take her. Sometimes a flock just won't accept one for whatever reason.

Happy new year friends :) going to take updated pics of the flock today to share, hope you all can share new pics too!

In search of a young Turkey tom, my Turkeys are all hens! Any heritage breed. Not the bbb commercial kind. Ideally 3-6 months old.
Message me your price :)

Thanks

At this point of time, no. There is enough space in the coop but it would be difficult to check up on her if we placed her there since the chickens take up their space. The reason we removed her was because the others had pecked her head open and the blood was making them very stir crazy. There was blood everywhere the first time we scooped her out of the coop - it was disgusting.

Also @OffGridMAMA , how cute! And nice tree too!
