I can picture that Tammi! Too funny. So, any of those babies female SL OEGB? I still really like those. And they don't count in chicken math. I'd probably need a baby silkie to go with it, so it doesn't get lonely.

I feel the same way Sunny. I think because they don't cost much they aren't seen as valuable, but they are a living creature. I don't think I'd order from a hatchery again. I'll just wait until ya'll hatch out some cuties.
I also agree with Cara, why would they pick such big chicks to pack with little'uns

Still don't know what they are? They really ought to write it down on a sticky and stick it to the invoice. How much work can that be?
Those Modern Game don't look as goofy as I thought they would as chicks. They just look like chicks.... I don't know what I was expecting....

maybe chicks on stilts.

Cara- I missed the pic of the baby MGB! I went back and saw it after I saw KKH's post. How cute are they!! I expected them to look like my OEGB's did when they were babies- brown and striped, with longer legs. I didn't expect yellow chicks! But I think you said you have red pyle? is that right? Mine are BBR.

We'll need some pics of your cocopops too, when they arrive!

I could be wrong but I am thinking maybe they are sexlink males? At least they did not give you leghorn males.

I am sure someone will grow them out. I ended up with a sex link male from Ideal and he is quite hefty and crowing now.

Okay, I know some of you chicken "veterans" will be able to help me out here.

I have a very sad situation. I found my 5 month old Buff Orp pullet with a bloody comb, and deeply scuffed beak, with the tip broken off, in her coop, with her two sisters (same age), three days ago. I don't know why, all of a sudden, her sisters turned on her, but she's just seemed to always fall at the bottom of the pecking order. The older hens would always go after her when they were ranging together, hence the reason she wasn't housed with them. Now her coop mates have decided to persecute her as well.

So, after I found her with her injuries, I brought her in the house, and she's been a house chicken for 3 days now. Today I thought I'd try to let her range with the chickens, while I was back there supervising, and everybody just chased her, and made her miserable. I took her to the front yard to hang out with DH instead.

She just looked so lonely and sad, and beat up, I feel so bad for her! Will she do okay by herself? She really needs some TLC, she's very light, for her size. I need to pack on some weight, and get her strong again. What is going to be the best food to do that? Scrambled egg? Does she need to have chicken friends to be with? Will she get depressed indoors?

Sunny once again I am offering advice but it is non specific. It seems every situation is different and we just need to deal with it a little at a time. You can not let the others hens beat up on one bird but what are the alternatives and why are they inflicting misery. Maybe just because the bird is vulnerable they feel that they can be bullies. Anyway that has been my take on relationships with humans and I used to tell my son about that when he asked me why some kids are mean to him and other kids. I gave him my bully theory that they did picked on some one who is vulnerable because it made them feel better.

So give TLC and if you can create some alternative for that poor baby.

Thank you Flower, and thank you Cara (for the get well tips; the bread and milk went down easily, and I just went and got some bananas!). She's a sweet quiet little bird, I might just let her be my house chicken. I'm not crazy am I? Hopefully she will be satisfied with humans for friends, and maybe my big ole dog.

Her beak will repair itself, won't it? I know the comb doesn't grow back. She's missing a piece from when the big hen pecked her 3 months ago.

Knock Kneed Hen ~ Do you have modern game bantams????? One of you posts said that yours were a different color, I was not sure if there was someone else around with rediculace looking chickens. I have seramas and Modern game, CRAZY!!!
