San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

It's sunny near the beaches!! I'll bring hummus & grapes & pumpkin chocolate chip muffins (if I can keep my kids away from them:rolleyes:!) See everyone around lunchtime-

It's not raining at the moment here in Jamul, but it's still really dark and threatening.

Water treatment facilities. I grew up right down the street from this park. Hope you all have a great time today!! I'm looking forward to the next meet-up.

We're celebrating our youngest child's 21st bday. Dinner out tonight with her friends. Should be fun. The best part is we get to come home after dinner, she goes out to the bars!! So glad I'm as old as I am!!

I had a nice time meeting everyone, too. I will be writing my article tonight. In the meantime, here is a photo of Leia that I took:

I really like playing with the tiny little silkie chicks. Hopefully, in a future meetup, someone will bring ducklings.

I got there a bit early and met a few people but dang if I can remember who.

(I have a good memory its just short ) I wanted to take home all the Seramas... sigh. But I dont have a coop yet. That was the first time I saw a silky in person. They have a kind of Alien look to them dont they. Cute... but different. Mom and I had to go before everyone all got there. I look forward to joining in next time with some chickies of my own.

My girls and I had a GREAT time. Thank you Cara, Miriam, and Tammy, for letting my girls snuggle your chicks. They wanted me to bring all of them home. If DH hadn't been with me, I probably would have.

Tammy and Miriam, you both had some beautiful chicks!! I can tell I will need to do some expanding in the near future, in preparation for the next meet up!

Cari, THANK you for all your work with the feed order. That was huge. Next time, we will have to find a way to make it easier. You did so much work! Thank you for the eggs!

Cara, thank you for the eggs! I love my tiny chick. She's sleeping soundly with a stuffed unicorn right now to keep her company. According to my daughter, she picked it out herself. LOL. DH still hasn't committed to liking chickens, but she rode home on his lap, tucked in his sweatshirt. I saw him peeking at her the whole way home. He's hooked...I know it. That little chick will be the most spoiled of my whole flock.

Thank you everyone for coming and bringing food and gifts! The wheat-grass baskets and mealworms are COOL and very much loved by the chickens! Thank YOU!
