San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Michelle posting pictures is tricky until you post a few times. Practice and also knowing your filing system is important. First I find it easier to download several and then open another window where you copy the url for the larger copy.

So look at the top blue line and click on uploads, follow the step by step instructions remember to go back by clicking on the back button on the very lower righthand side. It is a multistep job but after you do it a few times the light will go on and if I can do it so can you. Just keep trying.

Once you have uploaded a few just copy past the bottom url which is the larger one. Mary

Save your picture to your desktop. Click the "uploads" button above and then "choose file" and "submit" then your picture will be uploaded, you click on it then copy the image tag looks like this

Then paste that tag in your reply or pm.

Which probably means mine are not far behind.

The barred rock laid the only pullet egg today. I was kind of surprised since I heard so many egg songs. So they were all taking a break today. One of the scruffy hens laid a egg.

My lone Texas A&M laid 5 eggs in a row and took a day off and laid one today.

WOOHOO! The ladies are making up for yesterday. I went in to make sure the ladies were okay on food and I found 6 pullet eggs. I mean pullet. No one was sitting on the eggs so I have no clue who laid them but I am guessing there are some new layers in there.

Yeah, congratulations. I guess from now on you have to watch your cholesterol level........ Glad that your ladies are finally paying you back for all the mealworms.....

Crazy Huhn, I am going to have to order smaller mealworms. Like the smaller batch you put aside. Those were perfect because the babies and the quails all eat it and the monster mealworms are too big for them.

I should get a video of the Texas A&M jumping up and down for her mealworm treats. She LOVES them and she has been laying eggs so she is getting Extras.

HA! If only you knew the truth. I have a love for chickens even at a young age. I had my first incubator when I was 7. I come from a family of heart disease and a brother that had a heart attack at 51 and my dad died of a heart attack at 71. My one sister has to be on cholesterol lowering drugs to keep her cholesterol in check. Surprisingly, my blood work comes back that I have Great cholesterol levels so I have no clue.

Hey everyone, Congrats on all the new eggs, Michelle, Nancy, and Cari!!

I'm a bit preoccupied right now with a couple chicks that aren't doing real well. Tammy, I'm looking for some of those liquid B vitamins, I'm not finding them in the usual places, I'm going to hit up Jimbo's and Henry's tonight. I don't think one of my chicks is going to make it, but he's trying SOOOO hard. He can't stand, his legs won't extend, and he has a small head/beak, and a crooked neck. He flops around on his belly. Makes me so sad. I keep hoping for a miracle- either fix him overnight, or let him RIP. I just don't know if I can do the deed myself, if it comes down to it, and I hate to seem him suffering, or what I perceive as suffering.
