Hello-I want to apologize first because I am wanting to post to the San Diego group and I can't figure out how to start a new thread. So please forgive me! I am such a newbie. If someone can tell me how to start a new San Diego thread, I would be happy to move this there.....

So I have silkie chickens-and it appears we have at LEAST ONE if not THREE roosters that will need a new home. One is white, around 4-5 months old and just started crowing this morning. I am trying to get into contact with the farm we got them from (she was going to take any roosters back) but just in case, I am looking for back up or any suggestions. These sweet Roo's have to go

These guys have been raised with our family and kids and cat and loved but we can't keep the boys with the girls-etc. etc.

I appreciate any help or advice.

These are our pets-not dinner

So they need to go to a pet home...not the dinner table!

Thanks!

Hey, everyone, how are your birds doing in the heat these last two days?

One of my OEGB pullets took a turn for the worse suddenly. The weird thing is that she's in the coolest of all the coops. I brought her in, gave her electrolytes and B vitamins, and I honestly thought I was going to lose her last night. This afternoon, she's looking fairly good, but I'm going to keep in inside for a couple days more, just to watch, and build up her strength. All my big fat fluffy hens did okay. I have electrolytes in their water, and ice packs for them to lay on today, but all they wanted to do was get out and forage. Now that I'm home for the rest of they day, they are out.

Hi sillybirdie! You're at the right place. Do you remember who it was that sold you the birds? If not, you can always post in the "sell~buy~trade" section. There is also the southern California thread to post to too: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=161 Someone may be interested. On April 30th there will be a southern Calif. meet up in Norco and you may be able to find a taker there. Pictures always help to move things along quicker so if you're able to try to post some pictures. The longer you wait the harder it is to find homes as hatching season is upon us. You can always post on Craigslist. I have re-homed a roo on there and felt good about where he was going. My mom just picked up 3 ducks from CL and they have the life of luxury. Join in any time here. We have had a couple of chicken meet-ups here in San Diego and will post when the next one is going to occur on this thread as well. There's also a website now for those of us in San Diego. You can check that calendar to see if anything is going on. You can also leave a message there as well looking for homes for your boys. That website is: http://www.sandiegochickens.webs.com/

Hi-

Yes I do know who sold me the birds and she was going to take back my roosters but her phone is off, her texts and emails don't return. Eeks. So I am pretty sure we have 3 roosters-of course I will handle one at a time as they crow but we can NOT have them crowing!!!! I am freaking out and this bird needs to go ASAP!

I am going to post pics once I figure that out.

He is a white Silkie, about 4-5 months old, working out his crowing skills!

I am going to post to all places you suggested. If anyone wants or knows someone who wants a White Silkie Rooster, please let me know!

Thanks
