San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Naomi - so sorry to hear what happened. Maybe stress of losing his job and things are too much to bear right now and he ran from the problem, hang tight things may work out. If you need a friend and shoulder to cry on give me a call anytime.

Nancy - 200 c arnica for 3 days can be beneficial for shock, nerve damage, pain and cell reconstruction. You can get it at Henry's in small dissolvable pellets. Also, since your dog may have gotten saliva on the bird, it is a good idea to use an antibiotic to prevent rapid infection that can be caused by that. Liquid B complex and a bird multivitamin will also help. The curling of the foot means a possibility of nerve issues. Is it a silkie? A minute bump on the head can do this sort of damage to a silkie since they actually have an opening in the skull that exposes the brain. If you want to talk about it more just call me or pm me.

**A sulfa antibiotic is best in conjunction with the arnica.

Hello. I am new to the forum. I have chickens up in Julian and am looking to add some blue Egger Ameraucanas. Does anyone have some for sale that are already feathered out and can be added to my flock? Thanks Bill

Are you looking for pure Ameraucanas or just mixed blue eggers like EE's?

Naomi, I'm so sorry. Maybe it is just stress, and he'll come back around.

I know you're probably panicking, but don't be too hurried to move the birds just yet. It may still work out.

It won't be too hard to find good homes for them if you need to.

Hi Everyone, I had to go to a doctor's appt. early this AM. I just got home and I need a nap.

I just checked on my Delaware and she has moved around since I do not have her in a crate. She looks alert and is eating and drinking which is good. I will go in a bit to collect all of the things Tammy has suggested. Will start that right away.

I am hoping she pulls out of it. I will keep everyone updated on her progress.

Nancy

Amidst the chicken emergencies, I forgot to say WELCOME to BYC, and the Sandy Eggo chicken thread!! Cari (whitemountainsranch) hatched some cuties not long ago, I'm not sure if anyone else locallly is producing Ameracaunas.

Anke,
You are too kind, thanks for the plug. At the risk of sounding less than modest, I agree
with you, My coffee beans are the best in the west!

On a serious not, Naomi, I think you have gotten some great advice.
my thoughts and hopes are with you. I am among many whom I am sure would be happy
to adopt any of your birds but would be insisting on paying for them, ($ or beans).

Be well,

Glenn
