I delivered the aloes to Anke today, Flower. No I didn't leave them in the back of my car, I brought them into the shade near the house. The ones I would check on, still looked hydrated, so I think they'll be okay for Anke.

Cari!! Hooray! I'm still waiting for a broody... I gave Jacob some of my OEGB eggs today to incubate for me. His dad taught me the "fertility bulls-eye trick", and I tried it out at home on my refrigerated eggs. I might be in luck!!

I only collected 5 this week from my 2 hens, so we'll see how it goes.

Anke- my little chickens are going bonkers for your worms! I LOVE my little roos... they are so sweet(OEGB & Serama). They come up and take a worm out of my hand, then walk about a foot a way, drop it, and start calling for their hen to come get it. They wouldn't even eat any until she had totally gorged herself!! Its amazing that those kinds of manners are bred into chickens, yet bred out of humans.....

Alright, there are still a "few good men" out there.. and I bet they were all raised around chickens!!

Congratulations! I am up to day 10 here. Started with 6 eggs and one broke. She is still sitting on the remaining 5. I did try to candle them on night 7, but wasn't really sure what I was or wasn't seeing. I may try again this evening. I have the broody in a rabbit hutch in the enclosed pen. When (or if) anything hatches, do I move the broody and the babies? Do they stay in the hutch or do I move them into the garage? I would prefer to leave them outside as my rabbit goes in the garage at night.

YAY for broodies!!! I have all the right breeds, but nobody wants to go broody!!! Of course, I'm mid coop move right now... the run is complete, but the coop is not built yet, so my poor Eggies are quite frustrated right now!! My goal is to have it done this weekend, but I know the painting will never get there in time...

LAseramas KP the one with the Colombian marking ! The black feathers on the tail and around the neck ? She looks so much rounder than the other seramas but it could just be that she is basicly white and directly in the sun.

Sunny thank you taking care of the plant. I hope that that was what she had in mind.

CAChickenNewbee Thank you forposting a nice picture of the iris standing so straight. Does it have a fragrance, if so the name of it is called gingersnap. It is rather newer than many of the hundred that I have growing and I wasn't aware that I had any of those in the box that I had to give away.

I've heard you can just leave them right where they are, they will take care of the babies and keep them safe. Just make sure the feed is on the ground where they can reach it and that they can't fall into the water. I'm not going to move mine. I marked the eggs she is sitting on with a pencil so I will know which ones to take out daily.
