I like that idea so we have time to plan then we can have a BIG meet up.
I am hoping that at the next one, I will be able to buy to fill the coops. My offer on my new home on a BIG lot has become a reality finally. No more dreading that animal control is going to knock on my door. No more hiding roos in the garage and getting up 5 in the morning to hide them.
Just going to throw it out there. I will have to wait to close escrow because it was a probate and they countered me on when we can close escrow. They need more time to get their paperwork in order. The new house allows roos but I am exhausted putting them away. If anyone can take them for a month max and I will take care of their room and board. If not, then I will have to suffer another month.
Hi All I dont know most of you but for those of you that do know me you know that I have lots of feathered friends and they mean so much to me. I love my birds.
I also have a laying hen side business and sale bantams and Seramas to 4H kids.
About 2 weeks ago my landlords husband (not an animal person), mandated that I get rid of ALL my birds except 30! Were on 4 acres in the country and I work my tail off keeping everything clean and I have a decent setup as well. But he stated this is not a farm!
That said I must comply because, for now, we need to live there. This is very hard for me to say the least. I am having hard time deciding who to keep versus who I have to let go ..
Glenn has kindly taken some of my very special seramas and Q-Tip, my sweet white silkie.
I bring this to the forum just in case you are looking to add to your flock. All my birds are happy and healthy. They free range everyday and are locked up in their various coops at night.
If youre interested please check craigslist under farm & garden. I have several different chicken related ads up as well as a couple 6x6x4 kennels.
I did hear about this from Glenn and was planning to ask you if it was ok to give your # out. I am dropping off some chickens and quail tomorrow to someone who just bought a new Ranch in Jamul. I know they are looking for more chickens (more hens than roos of course) and some ducks, plus other farm animals. I will pass on the info, maybe if they can buy enough at a good price they will be willing to make the trip out to you.
I wish you luck and sorry you have to give up so many of your little friends.
