San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

As unfair and shortsided as this ruling is, I also believe most people are not going to be adversely affected. I do not think that there will be active "chicken police" running around in a county that has zero extra funds in the bank... I envision lots of creative adaptations, too - temporary rooster relocations may become commonplace. People have always adapted under difficult circumstance, and I believe the San Diego chicken community will be no different.

Hang in there, everyone.

One of the Blue Andalusians started laying today! I'd forgotten how sweet little pullets eggs are...

It will be nice to have some white eggs in my basket again.

Well, I should have gone. Perhaps I should have called in sick.

I did write a letter. I gave a copy to Rachel Bowman, I sent to to all the BOD, and it was read and not responded to by one person, deleted by one without reading, and never opened by the others.

Sounds to me that a stronger showing would have cerntainly been a good thing however some of couldn't get the time off...sounds like an excuse but it is a fact. It also sounds like their minds were made up and that whoever drove this on the other side had a lot of supporters aka city people on the COB.

Hopefully they'll leave us alone and not target the people who signed the petition. My neighbors are great so no worries there but we'll see what happens. I'd love to move anyway..I was born here and lived on a good sized ranch. But I can't even dream about affording that around SD county...................I hear the "middle of nowhere" in the mountains calling!

There is also an option to get a variance, I believe.
