How about African elephants? They don't crow at all...

I think we should all send our excess roos to Dianne Jacob.

Good thought Dana!

Funny Dana!! Elephants are great ...then you can take the poop and give to the COB to fertilze their gardens!!

Hi Laurelm- I was wondering if you still have the 2 Javas that need a good home. I was supposed to get back to you sooner, And I'm sorry about that. School/homeschool started that week and I've been in running mode since. If so, again, sorry, which kind of Javas are they-black, mottled or white? I was wondering possibly where you bought them-just informational to keep tabs on all the ones I'll have. (Mine are from the local feed store). And if they're both hens-especially since the new 'rooster rules'. Thanks, Laura

As far as the ordinance meeting, I'm sorry my daughter and I didn't show up. I honestly did have some kinda flu-tried to get better by the meeting but couldn't.

On a lighter note, My hubbie told me he should be home to take care of the kids on the day of the Norco meet, so I actually get to go.

Hi Laura - I sold them and I am keeping one. Sorry I hadn't heard from you so I though you decided against getting them. I do understand how busy we all get!

I got them from one of three hatcheries - can't remember which one. Either Ideal, Privett or Welp.

Do all the roos look like THAT!! I think crossed with a Silkie to get a big fat walnut comb = rooster perfection!! LOL!! Of course, he'd have to be sweet and good to the ladies.

Yes all my roosters look like him.

Ameraucanas are by far the sweetest best most awesome roosters I have ever had. They keep the ladies together, watch out for them, call for treats, are gentle, and are friendly to boot! I

my roosters.

I'm glad to hear how much you like your Am boys, 'cause it looks like I've got two of them - a blue, and a black. The blue has been confusing me since it was a chick; At 22 weeks, it is still not showing a three-row pea comb, but is as big body-wise as the other roo. (The black is definitely, without-a-doubt, a roo. The other blacks are definitely girls. The blue? Sigh...) No one is crowing yet. I need pictures.

Anyway, as we build out our big enclosed run we will eventually be combining my little group of Ams in with the big group of layers. 18 girls for 2 boys should be okay, you think?
