San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

I'm done with roosters for my layers. I have a banty, and a cochin that between the two of them have beat my beautiful hens all up! The cochin jumps on top of them, and the banty pecks their head!!!

Now the boys are being rehomed..... I won't stand those kind of shenanigans. My pitbulls do just fine watching out for the hens. I let my hens free range on the days I'm home, and cooped up when I'm not home.

Hey everyone, I'm running a BYC special on my processed chickens, $4 a pound instead of 5 and I will meet you halfway for delivery, please let me know if you would like to add on for this weeks processing, they will be fresh not frozen!

Thanks!

Perchie - that is very similar to what I'm looking at. I will have to compare the prices to what I've seen previously, and let you know who's cheaper. I think the diameter I was looking at is more like an inch than two inches.

I am ready for MM anytime!! I am out of everything, and will be buying the regular organic stuff from Kahoots this week.

Cari - are you looking to move locally, or are you dreaming of far-away pastures?

Cari-I would be in for a few bags on MM also.
2 goat pellet
2 scratch

Cara-

Oh, my... babies! What a cute coop-full, Renee!

I guess I forgot to add in my actual order for MM.

8 alfalfa pellets
4 soy-free layer pellets
2 scratch
2 BOSS

I may have a friend who wants a bag of DE; I'll check with him. I think Emily wanted a few bags of layer, too.

8 acres sounds terrific! You will fill it quickly, I'm sure. New EE projects, right?

Edited because I cannot spell today.

Anybody in Ramona want to buy a shipping crate 5ft wide x 8ftlong x 7ft tall, made out of 3/4" plywood, VERY structurally sound for $100. Single door on 5ft. side.
I'm going to see about getting a couple. The guy said he can put 5 on a truck (they are built on pallets, made to be stacked and moved, they will place
it where you want). I'm looking for someone interested that will share the delivery cost. They advertise $75-$125 for shipping....of course, I don't think
that means Julian (never does!). I would pay more on delivery than you because they're obviously going farther.

Anyone???? Please get back to me soon. Thanks!! Allison
