I'm so sorry you have to give up your little ones, too...

Hi Dana,

I know.

It looks like we aren't going to be able to get into our new place for over a week while the "underwriter" takes his sweet time...
So no place to keep the girls. I do have a dog crate maybe I could store them in there. But I could be up to 2 weeks. We just don't know and apparently neither does any of the money people!!

Frustration.

There is always the future though.

What is up?

The gauge is not critical. 21g is ideal and so is short. If you use a long needle and inject into the breast then only put in about 1cm.
The bird may not even feel/react to the injection.
Good luck!

I picked up a couple of birds and they have upper respiratory infections...sounds like Pneumonia. Lynne is giving me some Tylan but I want to have some on hand. I keep learning, lol. . . . so I'm adding to my arsenal.
Sick birds are on a heating pad in the garage FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR away from any other bird.

So you administer the Tylan intramuscular? Ugh!

They offer 20 and 22 guage needles. The shortest I can see is 3/4".

Speaking of sick chickens, i dosed all my birds with 1/2cc of Valbazen about a month ago, but there are still tapeworms in the poo. Did i not dose them enough? Or should i give them round 2?
