Me too, my last hatch was only 5 babies and they are just so fun to sit and watch even though they have to have the heat lamp extra long because it's so cold. They are better than TV! My 6 week old EE's are SO fun to watch, they are outside in the big baby coop now and learning how to be real chickens. They are such a riot. I love that there is a mix of colors... easier to tell them apart!

I've got my two 6 weeks olds in the garage. I put up the door today even though it was quite cold out. They had the option of sitting under the heat lamp if they wanted. I definitely have a roo, such a fiesty one!

My other 6 are doing well in the loft in the house. They're toasty at night as the wood stove heats upstairs pretty well. The chicks are warm, I'm cold in the back bedroom.

Going to Victorville tomorrow. Anyone else going?

Cute post Renee, the part about hubby especially heart warming ! How could anyone dislike the little fuzz butts. My friend Betty just had a 100% hatch using my Brinsea and so has be elected to do all the hatches from now on. We have a request for spring time order of EEs. No chicky babies for me for a long time but I am having so much fun watching my GSD (dog) and the new kitty from SunnyCalifornia. She is so cute, smart and fearless. I sure hope that they become good buddies. My dog is in awe of that little kitty.

During the wind storm my coop roofs blew off and the fences took a beating. Lots of repair work to do but they are all fine except the birds decided to move into other runs. I used to have three and they reduced them to two. It is not going to work like that but the changes will need to wait. All the birds are unharmed and those that were laying continued without any interruption. The pilot on my heater is out so I have no central heat. Even following the relight instructions, I am without heat. So glad that it mild so far and the sun warms the place up in the daytime. I was planning on making ceramic gifts for Christmas and my work is interrupted by all the weather induced problems. pooh

Boy flower, you've had a row of bad happenstances! Call SDG&E (Or Edison if that's who you have), they'll send someone out to light your pilot light. We were supposed to get hammered by the wind but didn't even get a breeze. This place would be paradise if not for the wind. Hope to see you tomorrow, but if I don't I understand.

Hi Cari-

Just wanted to let everyone know that you are a fantastic host! I took the family to WMR to visit her birds and meet Cari for the first time. Well, the kids had a blast holding chicks, rabbits, and petty her monster turkey! Oh, yeah, that female Mastiff is a real sweetheart. Not to mention her W/WB are even more beautiful in person.

I am looking forward to some of her classes and meeting some of the other BYC "club" members.

Cheers,
Paulo
